The 2010 Annual Conference Planning Committee invites you to participate in the program by submitting course proposals for the 2010 ENA Annual Conference, September 23-25, 2010 in San Antonio, Texas. Interested individuals are encouraged to submit course proposals by Friday, October 23, 2009. Faculty chosen to present will receive complimentary registration, airfare, hotel, and per diem.
Share your knowledge and experience with an international audience of emergency nurses that includes advanced practice nurses, trauma coordinators, managers, administrators, medical directors, clinical specialists, prehospital coordinators, and educators. Areas of focus for the program are: clinical, advanced clinical, advanced practice, pharmacology, research, education, wellness, leadership and professional issues, and injury prevention.
The standard course length is 75 minutes. Faculty are encouraged to present two separate topics or be prepared to repeat their lecture(s). Standard courses requiring multiple faculty are discouraged unless a convincing need can be demonstrated.
As we continue to develop the Center for Advanced Practice Learning (CAPL), courses specifically tailored for nurse practitioners and clinical nurse specialists will receive strong consideration. Submissions for CAPL courses should be didactic lectures of a traditional 75-minute length.
Additionally, proposals for presessions also are requested. These workshops, containing in-depth content presentation, should be 3 or 8 hours in length and address topics that apply to the majority of the emergency nursing audience.
Returning in 2010, is the supplemental “Fast Track” format presentation. These 30 minute sessions allow the faculty to give a factual, rapid paced presentation that provides the attendee with the latest, need to know, cutting edge information. Faculty wishing to present these brief content driven sessions should convey their ability to do so through their content outline. These sessions should differ in scope from traditional concurrent presentations.
Proposals are reviewed and scored for clarity of the course description, objectives, and content outline, creativity of proposed presentation, its significance to emergency nursing, and the speaker’s presentation skills and history. Course proposals must be submitted in the format requested. Incomplete or incorrectly submitted proposals will not be reviewed. A separate proposal form must be completed for each course submission. To review the full submission criteria and to obtain the interactive electronic submission form AnnualConference@ena.org. Mail your completed proposal to:
For questions, contact Educational Services at 800/900-9659 ext. 4123.
Presentation proposals that are not complete or that are not submitted in the requested format will not be considered. Formal notification of selection will occur approximately 90 days after submission deadline date.
