Karen K. Wiley, MSN, RN, CEN, is currently serving as a member of the Emergency Nurses Association board of directors, the specialty nursing association serving the emergency nursing profession through research, publications, professional development, and emphasis on quality and patient safety. Wiley's term ends in December 2014.
Wiley is a staff nurse at Alegent Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. She has been an ENA member since 1997. At the national level, Wiley was a General Assembly delegate, a member of the 2011 Emergency Department Psychiatric Care Committee, and the chairperson of the 2009-10 Emergency Department Violence Work Team. She has been active at the state and local level since 1999 serving on the Nebraska state council as secretary in 1999, president-elect in 2000 and 2009, and as president in 2001 and 2010. Wiley's strong commitment to advocacy is demonstrated by her service as chairperson of the Nebraska state council Government Affairs Committee from 2000 to present.
Wiley received her nursing degree from the College of Saint Mary, Omaha, Nebraska. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Creighton University, Omaha, and her Master of Science degree in nursing from Nebraska Wesleyan University, Omaha. She is a certified emergency nurse.
Wiley is a member of the Nebraska Nurses Association, the American Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau International.
