2011 Secretary/Treasurer
Jason Moretz, BSN, RN, CEN, CTRN, is currently serving as the secretary/treasurer of the Emergency Nurses Association board of directors, the specialty nursing association serving the emergency nursing profession through research, publications, professional development and injury prevention. Moretz’s term ends in 2011.
Moretz is currently a consultant with the emergency services division of Blue Jay Consulting. He has worked as an emergency or critical care transport nurse for his entire nursing career.
Moretz joined ENA as a student member in 2001. Since then, he has served in numerous local, state and national capacities. Most recently, he was a director on the ENA board of directors for 2009 and 2010. He was a member of the ENA board of directors Governance Committee in 2009 and served as chairperson in 2010. He was a member of the Resolutions Committee in 2007 and served as chairperson in 2008. Moretz was a member of the State Council Compliance Work Team in 2008, and the Web Communications Work Team in 2005. Moretz was North Carolina ENA president in 2006 and 2007, and secretary in 2006. He was the 2004 Metrolina Chapter president.
Moretz earned an Associate Degree in nursing from Caldwell Community College in Hudson, North Carolina, in 2002. He then obtained a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, in 2007. Moretz became a Certified Emergency Nurse in 2004, and a Certified Transport Registered Nurse in 2008. He is also faculty for both the Trauma Nursing Core Course and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course.
