2011 Director
Mitch Jewett, RN, CEN, CPEN, is currently serving as a member of the Emergency Nurses Association board of directors, the specialty nursing association serving the emergency nursing profession through research, publications, professional development and injury prevention. Jewett’s term ends in December 2012.
Jewett is a staff nurse at Galichia Heart Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. He has worked in both rural and urban emergency departments in Kansas for more than twenty years. He has served at the state and local level as the Kansas ENA State Council President and ENACK President. He has been active at the local, state and national level in government affairs and has served on the ENA board of directors from 2007-2009. He has written many articles for the ENA Connection.
Jewett is a member of the American Nurses Association. He has served as Vice Chair and Chair for the Kansas Hospital Association Emergency Preparedness Committee. In 2006 he served on the Kansas Driving Force Task Force exploring ways to reduce injury and death on his state’s roads and highways.
Jewett earned his Associate of Arts in nursing from Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kansas. A member of ENA beginning in 1986, he is a Certified Emergency Nurse, a Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse, a Trauma Nursing Core Course instructor and an Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course instructor.
