Committees
Many of the ENA’s strategic initiatives are accomplished through the committee process. Committee membership is open to all ENA members and a call for participation in committees goes out two times a year in April and July or on an as needed basis. Committee members must be ratified by the Board of Directors. Committees are typically ongoing in nature and used to investigate, deliberate, and analyze ongoing pragmatic areas or priorities. Committees will continue to have their charges updated on an annual basis. Committee members generally have rotating terms that shall be staggered to provide overlap of members from year to year. Terms range from 1 to 2 years. The following committees are supported by the IQSIP team:
• Clinical Practice Committee
• Emergency Management and Preparedness Committee
• Emergency Nurses Wellness Committee
• Geriatric Committee
• Lantern Award Committee
• Nurse Practitioners in Emergency Care Committee
• Pediatric Committee
• Position Statement Review Committee
Work Teams
Work Teams are groups that are typically associated with completing a single set of charges over a set period of time. A work team may be in operations for up to 2-3 years. A work team will sunset once the charges are completed. The following work teams are supported by the IQSIP team:
• Emergency Department Operations Work Team
• Emergency Nursing Advanced Critical Thinking Work Team
• Emergency Nursing technology and Informatics Work Team
IQSIP State Chairs
The network of IQSIP State Chairs engage in peer-to-peer networking, inquiry and practice sharing regarding areas of quality, safety, wellness and injury prevention efforts. This is an expanded role from the former injury prevention chairs. Conference calls take place between the IQSIP state chairs and the ENA national office as well as regular newsletters, document sharing and/or updates.
