As emergency department redesigns continue across the United States in unprecedented numbers, the new decade will require today’s nurses to take leading roles in the design of “tomorrow’s emergency department." Flexibility, efficiency, Lean streamlined patient care, confidentiality, and other key issues will need to be considered when designing your new department. New technologies, safety issues, and bioterrorism are other concerns that will also need to be considered in tomorrow’s ED environment. This course will identify key issues to consider when you participate on an ED design team and how the ED nurse can be a driving force in designing a state-of-the-art emergency department. |
